Surfrider Foundation recently held its annual Pacific Northwest Conference in beautiful Seaside, Oregon. This two day gathering brought together dozens of folks from chapters in Oregon and Washington for a meeting with Surfrider's Environmental Director, Chad Nelson and other key staff including Washington and Oregon Policy and Field Coordinators.
This year's agenda included campaign updates and trainings on how to run an effective chapter, strategize campaigns, and work with PR and media. We learned about statewide campaigns for ecosystem based management, water quality, wave energy, and "Rise Above Plastics." There was also plenty of opportunities for networking and resource sharing between chapter executive committees and volunteers.
All and all the sunny October skies and pristine Oregon beaches provided the perfect backdrop for this awesome event. A special thanks to everyone who helped make this year's conference such a wonderful success.
