Marine Sanctuary Public Comment Period Ending Novemer 14, 2008

The Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary received an outstanding response to their "Navigating the Future" public meetings held in Port Angeles, Neah Bay, La Push, Ocean Shores, Westport, Olympia, and Seattle. These meetings allowed for the public to submit comment and feedback for the Sanctuary's management plan review process. It was a wonderful opportunity for community members to learn all about the Sancutary's role along our coast and to bring areas of local concern to the table.

The Sanctuary recently published all of the public comments from these meetings on their website, which may be viewed by going to http://olympiccoast.noaa.gov/protection/mpr/mpr_scoping.html (then scroll down to the bottom of the page). The public comment period does not close until November 14, 2008, so if you weren't able to make it to one of the meetings, there is still plenty of time to submit your comments. For more information on submitting comments, visit the new Navigating the Future web site at http://olympiccoast.noaa.gov/protection/mpr/welcome.html and for additional information you may also email the Sanctuary at ocnmsmanagementplan@noaa.gov or by calling 360-457-6622 ext. 28.
