Support healthy nearshore environments

The Washington House of Representatives will be voting in the next few days on HB 2162 "Addressing appeal and permit procedures under the shoreline management act."  Without amendment this bill could impose negative impacts to our shorelines and nearshore habitat for birds, fish and shellfish in a number of ways. For a closer look at the bill please visit http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/summary.aspx?year=2012&bill=2162.

Amendments to the bill will help ensure and encourage good development practices for the health of our area's marine resources.

You may call the state's Legislative Hotline at 1-800-562-6000 and leave a message for your representatives (for Grays Harbor Rep Blake and Takko) to encourage improvements to this bill for the health of our coastal marine resources.
