Huge Turnout for Brady's Oyster Feed

As Volunteer Coordinator for Surfrider Foundation's newly formed South Coast Chapter, along with our Vice Chair, Tom Bougher we were thrilled to have the opportunity to take part in blue sky, warm weather, and lots and lots of steamy oysters, clam chowder, and great people.

On September 13 over 500 folks showed up for Brady's 16th Annual Clean Water Oyster Feed which offered us the spectacular opportunity to bring Surfrider information, support, and visibility to the masses all in an effort to promote clean water for our region.

Brady's is a family owned and operated business that spans four generations. Their oysters are grown on Suspended Culture, which is a unique method developed by Brady Engvall in the early 1970's. In coordination with the Willapa/Grays Harbor Oyster Grower's Association, Brady's hosts this event bringing the community together, along with those near and far to serve up somewhere between 6,000 to 10,000 oysters, with proceeds going toward and Ocosta High scholarship and to benefit clean water projects. So a big thank you to Brady's and everyone involved in this year's event.
